On the afternoon of August 5, under the initiative of "Pudong Digital Global Expansion", Shanghai DO-Port, together with TechWeek Shanghai, hosted a delegation of more than 30 members from the Center for Intelligent ICT Convergence Talent Development of South Korea’s Paichai University for a field visit to the industrial ecosystem of data infrastructure development and data element applications in Pudong.

The delegation visited ZTE Shanghai R&D Center and China Mobile (Shanghai) Industrial Research Institute successively to learn about the construction of computing infrastructure and industrial applications of "5G+AI".

At ZTE, the delegation focused on the company’s independent innovations in underlying technologies including chips, operating systems and databases, as well as its practices of supporting digital transformation across various industries with full-stack intelligent computing and universal connectivity capabilities. They also held interactive exchanges with enterprise representatives on topics such as intelligent computing applications and AI terminals.

At China Mobile (Shanghai) Industrial Research Institute, the delegation learned about integrated "5G+AI" applications in vertical sectors such as spatio-temporal information, smart transportation, industrial energy and fintech. The members observed on-site application scenarios including remote driving, gaining a more intuitive understanding of the development landscape of deep integration between communications and artificial intelligence.

Headed by KIM CHANG SU, Dean of the Center for Intelligent ICT Convergence Talent Development at Paichai University, the delegation included CEOs and technical leads of South Korean tech startups as well as university students. During the exchanges, multiple Korean representatives noted that South Korea boasts a cluster of innovative enterprises in ICT convergence and AI applications. They expressed expectations for further in-depth engagement with digital enterprises in Shanghai to explore practical paths for technological cooperation and market expansion.

Meanwhile, the delegation also visited Zhangjiang Robot Valley and the AI Application Store at Zhangjiang AI Innovation Town to learn about the layout of the robot industrial chain and consumer-facing AI scenarios.
