DO-Port | Digital Going-Global Results Take Center Stage at WAIC as New Data Sec
From July 17‑20, the 2026 WAIC and Global AI Governance High‑Level Meeting took place in Shanghai. During the event, the Pudong Digital Going‑Global Action Plan, in collaboration with DO‑Port, hosted an ASEAN matchmaking session. Representatives from Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and others engaged in dialogues on data circulation, smart cities, and AI applications, leading to several cooperation agreements covering market connectivity and technology collaboration.
ASEAN delegates shared their digital governance practices, and industry experts discussed cross‑border data frameworks. The delegation visited WAIC exhibitions and Shanghai’s smart city sites, observing real‑world AI integration. A closed‑door seminar explored market access and future cooperation milestones.
New collaboration leads emerged in AI‑driven services and content production, to be followed up through targeted matchmaking. Over the past six months, the Data Bureau and the Shanghai Smart City Development Research Institute have refined a two‑way matchmaking mechanism, building a solid foundation for future projects. The Bureau will continue to support digital enterprises going global, positioning Pudong as a premier hub.
